Anod Cell

Membrane anode cell for cathodic CED tanks, used to remove excess acid and help maintain bath pH.

Overview

In a cathodic electrodeposition (CED) tank, the workpiece acts as the cathode and anodes are placed in the bath as counter electrodes. In an anode (anolyte) cell, the anode is enclosed by a membrane and anolyte solution is circulated through the cell.

The circulating anolyte removes the excess acid released during coating, helping to keep the bath pH under control, and carries away heat generated at the anode.

Applications

  • Cathodic electrodeposition (CED) tanks
  • Anolyte circulation systems
